Battle meditation was the term given to use of the Force to influence the events of a battle. Its effects included among them increased confidence, improved reactions, weight gain, risk of stroke, and shedding. Because of the latter three its users came with a warning label from the surgeon-general. Skilled users could influence entire campaigns or, as did the Sith, sabacc tournaments. Darth Revan and Darth Malak employed in this manner such of their minions as were users so as to raise credits with which to finance their armies.

The Jedi held battle meditation to be a form of mind trick but of vastly greater effect. Jedi were most careful in its use. Fear of infringing on the rights of sentients was a great concern to them. The Sith, however, could not have cared less and often used it to control their minions in their respective quests to acquire the Robe of Eviltude.
