- "Look at the size of that alien's heed. I'm not kiddin'. It's like an orange on a toothpick. God, that's a huge noggin. Has its own weather system. Look at 'im, haulin' that gargantuan cranium about. That's no moon, it's just his heed. Well, that was out of line, wasn't it? He'll probably be cryin' himself to sleep tonight... on his huge pillow."
- ―Obi-Wan Kenobi, taunting a Bith
Bith were an intelligent species native to Clak'dor VII. Yep, the ancient Bith actually called it that. No idea how they managed to guess they were the seventh planet from the sun even before they'd developed a heliocentric model of the universe, but there you go. Odd how life is sometimes. But they had heads shaped like butts.
There were two major theories concerning the Bith:
- The Bith were a craniopod species with pale skin, big black lidless eyes, and long fingers. They were the result of tens of thousands of years of highly specialized evolution and acclimatization to a high-tech environment. Their sight and hearing were more highly developed than most species; they could see microscopic detail of objects and had a unique tonal sense of sound. They also possessed great manual dexterity for delicate tool work and had evolved beyond the need for sleep. Bith were common the galaxy, notably as engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and philosophers.
- The Bith were a bunch of eggheaded doofuses whose only real skill was playing the kloo horn in cantinas.
The Bith were so highly evolved as to be beyond sex. They could only reproduce via artificial means. Children were created when two donors brought genetic material to the Computer Mating Service, where it was combined, and the child was fertilized, incubated, and grown. So, unfortunately, Bith were not much fun to be around on a Saturday night. They were prominent musicians, but because there was no sex in their society, their music lacked... soul.
Because of their acute sense of hearing, loud or discordant noises gave them headaches. Sonic grenades practically made their heads explode.
