|Chronological and political information|
Darman was a clone commando that fell in love with and had relations with nerdish Jedi general Etain Tur-Mukan. His name, given by Kal Skirata, was a deriative of the Mando'a word Dar'manda, meaning a MANDALORIAN who has lost his MANDALORIAN heritage and soul. Nice move, Kal.
Behind the scenesEdit
"Darman" is a cheat code in Star Wars: Republic Commando that lets you skip levels. Naturally, this completely overshadows the importance of the commando named "Darman" in the Star Wars universe. After all, one appears in a computer game and another in a book. You know who else is more well known than "Darman" the clone commando? Peter Darman, a military writer whose name was used as a placeholder in the Republic Commando novels and never replaced with a "real" name. Probably unknown to the good Mr. Darman, he has achieved worldwide fame among the Star Wars fanboy community. Unfortunately, he has refused to conduct interviews or attend conventions.
Behind the Behind the scenesEdit
Actually, the sentiment expressed in this article is entirely dependent upon one's vision of Etain. For all we know, she could be the white, female version of Steve Urkel, but with Force powers. But since the novels in which she appears were written by a shameless self-promoter of a woman, the hapless Jedi babe is most likely a combination of top nerd fantacy archetypes.
